Station 97: Want To

There were many things I wanted to do.

Many I didn’t get the chance to.

How foolish I was, to think I didn’t have time

to believe I couldn’t switch at the drop of a dime.

Always loyal to what I started.

Never certain to leave what I had courted.

And, now that I sit above this world, an eternal spectator

I begin to reflect back and wonder.

Why had I, with my boundless skills,

sat still?

Once a kid, brimming of ambition,

reduced to solitary attrition.

Was it complacency, the failure to risk for something different

or was it the primal, short-sighted indulgence for comfort?
