Approaching the stairs, they could see a similar sight awaited them beyond the overlooking ledge. Another row of cubical structures stretching as far along the perimeter as they could see. After giving the closest building a quick look-over and finding the same result, they quickly moved on to the next set of stairs.

Scaling it, they finally arrived at a different setting. The bricked pathway stopped at the stairway platform, exposing the gray, lifeless stone. Though there were still stone structures here, they were not uniform, exhibiting features expected of a castle. Instead of flat clay surfaces, they were made of brick, cut from the same stone as their surroundings. There were walls that stood high. Towers that watched over the cliffs. Turrets, battlements, and archways. Sprawling along the dominating mountain, these were the structures they saw from a distance. However, there were no gates. No defensive features cut out of the walls and towers. No defensive mechanisms. The structures seemed to exist merely for navigation.
