Station 295: There is a Tomorrow

A longing tone, a bittersweet melody
an arrangement of voices coming together
to speak of their regret, their journey
with care, and affection
softly, quietly
yet clear, distinct.

Suddenly, a drop
a suspension
holding
without resolution
leaving a feeling of incompleteness
of wanting.

Breaking away
taking off, soaring
a cascade of a thousand thoughts and spirits
an arpeggiating soul, flying free
modulating towards the end
and returning to a hold, waiting, patiently.

Noticeably, a shift in tone
warmer, brighter
endearing and hopeful
yet still wistful
deep and beautiful
a clock’s arm, steadily pendulating.

And thus, a final reprise
an ever so brief arrangement of voices
a shared journey, no matter how bitter
a succinct reminder
no matter how distant
there is a tomorrow.
