Station 283: Squirrel!

“Hey.”

“Hey, look over there.”

“By the tree, by the tree.”

“Do you see it?”

“I think it’s a squirrel.”

“Yeah, it’s a squirrel.”

“Did it fall? Is it dead?”

“Looks like its eyes are open.”

“No, I think it’s alive.”

“Oh, its tail just moved.”

“What’s it doing?”

“Is it sleeping? Is it stretching?”

“Is that really how they sleep?”

“It’s just laying there, watching people walk by.”

“Kind of reminds me of me.”

“I don’t sleep with my legs out like that.”

“What if I call out to it?”

“It did nothing.”

“Oh, it’s looking at me.”

“I’ll call out again.”

“It ain’t moving. It doesn’t care.”

“It really does look like it fell from the tree and hurt itself.”

“I ain’t going out there just to touch it.”

“Oh, it lifted its head.”

“Oh! It ran off!”

“Where’d it go?”
