The bridge followed the coast, its dark wooden structure standing high above the waves and alighted by a congregation of bright red lanterns hanging off the roof of each section. This line crumpled and folded as it snaked north, an endless bridge disappearing into the shrouding mist. Even its warm glow diluted and disappeared with its structure, engulfed by a hazy white. One could walk down the bridge without coming to an end, without a change in scenery. A seemingly endless journey.
It’s somber to think that most won’t get to see what life after death is like. How others around you will react to your passing. A closure never truly fulfilled, even for those who get a second chance. And as the passed embark on an endless journey, they are left with nothing but their last thought. For all of eternity.
