I can predict the future.
Not because I’m some prophet,
Or a soothsayer,
But because I have the will.
I have the will to do what I want.
I have the will to persist even though the road ahead is tough.
Now, sometimes I falter; lose my footing. Stumble a bit.
I’ll admit to that.
But the important part is that I keep moving forward.
No matter what they say; if it can’t be done.
I will find a way.
Persistence is the key to success, and the key to predicting the future.
Some may call it stubborn; shortsighted or arrogant.
But that’s what it takes to accomplish what no one else has done.
Or fulfill a dream that many say is no longer relevant or possible.
Therefore call me stubborn.
Obsessed.
I am proud of my obsessions, because if you are not obsessed in what you’re doing then you haven’t tried hard enough.
Just take a look at some of the most successful people in their industries.
I guarantee to you, they are obsessed in what they do as well.
And they don’t let others sway their will.
Of course, that’s not to say I can’t change my mind.
If, perhaps, there is a better way,
I will consider it.
Make a compromise or two.
A new path may show up that may be more interesting to pursue instead,
Or I may notice an opportunity to start a new path when I’m older and wiser.
But it must not stray from the core vision of what I aimed to do.
My vision may not look the same by then as it is now, but you can be damn sure that I’ll reach it.
I have the will to reach for it.
If I’m not good enough now, then watch me, because I will get better.
I have the will to become better.
And you can, too.
You too can strive to become something much more than you’d imagine.
The journey will not be easy, but that’s what brings out the best of ourselves.
Know that there is not a magical force or equation to success.
Life is an endurance game. It rewards those who persist through the darkest of times.
So if you persist; if you have the will to persist,
Then people will take notice,
And your vision will come true.
